LONDON.- Copper closed with a 3.45% gain today at the London Metal Exchange after trading for US$ 1.48778 per pound, compared to US$ 1.43812 on Thursday and US$ 1.53791 on Wednesday of this week.
As a result, the monthly and yearly averages rose to US$ 1.46250.
Meanwhile, the future 3-month price quote ended at US$ 1.51046 per pound, up 3.74% from Thursday (US$ 1.45603).
At the LME, stocks increased by 5,875 metric tons to 363,575. So far this year, there has been an accumulated increase of 23,800 MT (+7.00%).
